A little garden. A lot of giggles.

Let’s play
Garden Giggles.

Find a flower. Reach for a butterfly. Make a pose that makes everyone laugh.

Sixteen garden spots in four rows: orange flowers, green leaves, blue butterflies and yellow suns

Point out the four pictures together: flower, leaf, butterfly and sun. Choose one game below. Read it once, then put the phone aside.

Play on a clear, dry area with the stickers flat and secure. Walk between spots. Choose comfortable reaches; stop and reset whenever a pose feels too stretched. One child moves on the garden at a time.

For children who can stand and copy a simple action

Copy My Wiggle

  1. Choose a leader and a copier. Everyone else waits beside the garden.
  2. The leader stands on any spot and makes a pose: arms like wings, hands on head, or a gentle wiggle followed by a freeze.
  3. The leader steps off. The copier finds the same picture and copies the pose. Any matching spot counts.
  4. Swap roles after each pose. Everyone takes three turns as leader.

“Stand on a butterfly. Spread your wings. Freeze!”

The finish: everyone makes their favourite pose together beside the garden.

Make it trickier: remember two poses in order. Keep both feet down for the easier version.

For children who can follow a short picture sequence

Remember the Garden

  1. The first caller names one picture. The mover walks to a matching spot and steps off.
  2. The next caller repeats that picture and adds one more. The mover follows the whole sequence, then steps off.
  3. Keep repeating the sequence and adding one picture. With two children, swap caller and mover after each attempt.
  4. Work together to reach five pictures. Any matching spot counts; if a picture repeats, tap the same spot again with a foot.

“Sun.” → “Sun, leaf.” → “Sun, leaf, flower.”

The finish: remember five together, then celebrate. If someone forgets, give a clue and try again.

Make it easier: stop at three pictures and say the sequence while moving. Make it trickier: build to seven.

Stay & Stretch

  1. Choose a mover and a caller. The mover puts one foot on each of two neighbouring spots.
  2. The caller chooses a nearby picture for one hand: “Put a hand on the leaf.” The feet stay where they are.
  3. The next call moves just one hand or foot to a different nearby spot. Keep the other planted hands and feet in place. Use no more than four contacts in total.
  4. After each move, hold comfortably while the caller says “one, two, three”. Complete three calls, then stand up and swap roles.

“Hand on the nearby leaf.” → “Other hand on that flower.” → “Move one foot to the sun beside it.”

The finish: three comfortable moves make one completed round. Take three rounds each.

If a move cannot be reached comfortably, say “New move!” The caller chooses another. If balance goes, reset—no one is out.

Make it easier: use two feet and one hand, and reset after every call. Make it trickier: try five calls or name the left or right hand and foot.

A child can enjoy different modes at different times. Choose by what they comfortably do today. This is a game-instruction prototype; the artwork and physical spacing are still being developed.
